It brings the leading AI models, including Google, OpenAI, Kling, Seedance, and Flux, into one workspace, with OpenArt Director to take a single idea to a finished, multi-scene video. Founded in 2022 by Coco Mao and John Qiao, who built together at Google’s Area 120, OpenArt is based in San Francisco and used by 10M+ creators worldwide.
Our story
It started with a simple question.What could you make?
After building together at Google’s Area 120, Coco Mao and John Qiao started OpenArt in 2022. Their first idea: help people discover AI images and understand how they were made. The early “Pinterest for AI images” launch became the top story on Hacker News. Then creators asked for something more: characters that stayed consistent, scenes that connected, and tools to tell a whole story. We listened. That ambition still guides what we build.
